Founded by Tim in 1973, Tim's Rent-All Ltd. has been a busy Bowmanville establishment for 47 years. Our first location was the south-east corner of King and Division streets, now the home of the Royal Bank. A few years later we bought our present building a few blocks farther west, at Scugog St.

The building itself is very historical, having been built in 1836 to replace an earlier wooden store built in 1817. It is the oldest surviving brick structure in town. It was the centre for Charles Bowwman's local business affairs for years.  In later years it was the original home of the Dominion Organ Company. They moved in about 1873 and stayed until they built a larger factory on Temperance St. The Bowmanville Radiant Heat Company (which made electric heaters) was in the building in the 1920s, and many older residents of town will still remember when it was Mike Osborne's garage.

There were apartments above the store for many years, we changed the apartments into a large retail area and opened Tim's Party Centre, where we rent and sell wedding and party equipment and supplies. For many years Tim's daughter Susan has run the Party Centre and she is well-known for her elegant and creative balloon decor.

Tim was well-known in Bowmanville and he supported many local projects. He died in 2005 and Susan's husband Hank is now running the Rent-All with the help of his capable staff.
