Lordship of the Isles and home of the Clan Donald chiefs from the 12th
to 16th c. They wrested control of the whole Atlantic seaboard from the Norse and ruled for 400 years. It is believed that the wives and children of the Lords were buried here, while the Lords were buried in Iona. |
