Islay, Inner Hebrides

Finlaggan
Finlaggan was the administrative seat of the Lordship of the Isles and home of the Clan Donald chiefs from the 12th to 16th c.
They wrested control of the whole Atlantic seaboard from the Norse and ruled for 400 years.
It is believed that the wives and children of the Lords were buried here, while the Lords were buried in Iona.
Islay
Some of us walked the 4 km or more back to the ship and took in the beautiful Islay countryside.
